Such a moving story! The emotions we, the readers, work through, it's a roller-coaster! The beginning though, the loss and devastation Kya experiences, it's crushing.
I really enjoyed the character development throughout the story. Between Kyas personal growth, the development of relationships between characters, the way the cast expanded their personal views on acceptance, it was so moving!
The marsh itself felt like a living thing to me. That it was more than just scenery, almost like a character of its own. I learned so much about the ecosystem there, and I honestly didn't expect that. For a fictional novel, there really were a lot of facts to absorb, so much to come away with.
There was so much to deal with in this story. Child abandonment, town wide judgement and ridicule, bullying, a death, a mystery, a love story, so many levels! I absolutely loved every second of this novel!
It's a short review, because this book really needs to be experienced to truly understand. The depth of the novel, there is no way to describe it and do any justice to it what so ever. I recommend this novel 100% 5/5* Hands down!
