Book Review: The Whisper Man by Alex North

It's hard to put a word to what I felt about this book, but I can give it a try! Disturbed? Spooked? Shook? Whichever fits best, I feel like there's a bit of a pattern here to my suggested words. A crime thriller of sorts, but with a way better take on it!

Set up from multiple narrators, with no distinction made between each one, so the reader occasionally has to guess at who is speaking. This gave such a different feel to the story. Each time the narrator shifted, it felt like we got just a little extra tidbit of information, and I personally felt like that really added to the mysterious feel of the story.

To say that there were scenes that gave me the creeps would definitely be an understatement. Children going missing is one thing, but getting the view point of the child, the parent, the investigators AND THE BAD GUY?! That was an entirely new concept for me with this style of book, and it had me on the edge of my seat throughout!

I did figure out who the bad guy was before the characters did, so we lose half a star lol. I love being kept in the dark and then blindsided in the end. I didn't have the alias, but the basic identity was given away fairly early on if you could catch it. Regardless, definitely an excellent, albeit UBER creepy story. Loved it! 4.5* easy!
