Book Review: The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory

Writer's picture: OineyOiney

I've just finished this one. I have to say, I based my choice to grab this book from the library solely based on the reviews from other Book Bloggers. The description sounded fun, but I only read that after it I'd picked up my copy!

I won't say this was my favourite so far this year, but it was a cute read! I enjoyed shock factors and the drama, the laughs, and all that food talk made me soooooo hungry! I'm definitely going out for Mexican very very soon!

I loved the characters! The strong female cast was so easy to relate to. From the need of having someone to share all their secrets with, to the love of true crime (which is always viewed strangely by those who don't feel the same), I really connected with the characters. I feel like Dana and Courtney were my favourites, even though they were meant to be secondary characters.

The connection between Nik and Carlos was really fun. I enjoyed their interactions, the easy going way of their conversations. I did find the issues they each had very cliche, and this is where the writing became super repetitive to me. If we heard Nik say she had been hurt in the past once, we heard it a thousand times.

It really was a good cute book though. Easy to read, and fun.

I give this one 3.5/5*
